Sweet Sausage with Provolone & Parsley

Spice was better than chicken sausage which was little or no spice.

I haven’t used it yet. I cooked a very small “test portion” to test. It was delicious and will come out of my freezer to combine with beef for amazing meatloaves!

I live there sausage ordered parsley and cheese rope sausage and received 5 lbs of ground sausage. I have been checking website so I can reorder the rope sausage and they have been sold out since the holiday. When will you have the rope sausage ?

You apparently changed your website so that it defaults to meat instead of rope sausage. Not very apparent especially when the graphic is rope sausage. As a result, my last 2 orders I received meat instead of rope sausage. I took the meat to a local butcher to try and have rope sausage made from the 20lbs of meat I have and they were unable to do it- could only make regular size sausage links. Very disappointed- I did enjoy the many orders of rope sausage I received prior, however, I won't be ordering any more going forward as a result...

I ordered it in round casing and this bulk came. That is not what was listed to buy on your website site. I have ordered it before without any problems. This was upsetting for I wanted to bbq it for Memorial Day.

Esposito sausage has such great flavor. We always use Esposito for bbq’s and making my sauce

I order the rope sausage and got the chop meat instead. I’m trying to purchase the rope sausage that I always do but it’s always out of stock. But will tell you that it’s great sausage if I ever get it again Pucci

The "link sausage" arrived here as a big lump of sausage meat, not as links. I turned this into meatballs. Very disappointing.

I made a mistake and ordered the wrong product.I wanted the links instead but it`s ok i`ll get the order right the next time.

Bad experience

Very disappointed. Ordered the 2-5lb boxes Rope pork sausage with parsley and provolone and go 2-5 lb bags of sausage meat. Dunno what im supposed to do with this blob, when I was looking forward to tossing some coils on my BBQ...Tried to reorder ropes again and then I noticed that while I clicked on the rope, there is a tiny drop down selection that you will miss unless you look for it that gives you the option of "rope" or "meat" and it DEFAULTS on meat, then when I tried to select "rope" its says "Sold out", I dont know whats up with that as its been sold out for going on 3 weeks now. I mean seriously, how long does it take to stuff some sausages? Kind of a bait & Switch if you ask me. This was the second time I ordered from Esposito's...I dont think there will be a 3rd time.

It reminded me of New York Sunday dinner with Dad at the grill.

Received sausage meat instead of sausage 3 times in a row. The company blamed me, but it looks like they may have finally figured out the problem with the website, since this has happened to dozens of loyal customers. Although now the actual sausage is never in stock. I pray they get it together one day.

Keeping it straight & truthful... My order was for sweet sausage parsley & cheese rings. Instead, I received a block of sausage meat (no links at all). I ordered sausage rings to prepare for holiday bbq.. Sausage links looked great online order. I am originally from N.Y. and these sausages were so easy to obtain. I'm in Florida for many years & yet to find sausage rings as great as NY. Nothing yet down here compares with NY great Italian cheese & parsley sausage rings. Disappointed, yes... I thought I was ordering rope sausage not bulk. Your advertisement was deceiving. In small letters it said meat. You should be ashamed of yourself

Once again, I ordered 5 pounds of cheese and parsley sausage and received a block of sausage meat instead. At least this time it wasn’t a frozen block, but a warm defrosted block, since they went with a totally sketchy shipping company. So that one went straight into the trash bin. This is the 3rd time in the last 2 months this has happened. I really hope Davey can get it together and fix this company, since it is a great product, from what I can remember at this point.

I am very disappointed the sausage arrived Partially soft my husband was home to receive it and it was put in freezer Then when. I got home. The order was bulk sausage. I thought I had ordered the rope sausage. I reached out to customer service And told him I didn’t expect anything. However, I was offered a gift card. I asked them to send me the rope sausage I received a confirmation and a picture of the rope sausage, and received the bulk sausage I’m not looking for anything except I think you really should have your orders checked and the condition Of your shipping and the way they arrive to your customers I I have reached out to your customer service twice and have not received a callback as the advertisement is an Instagram. It looks like absolutely wonderful and everything looks delicious. However, your customer service is lacking. I will not be ordering again.

Confusing ordering page. It shows picture of spiral sausage but there is a selection of “meat” and “ring”? Wanted spiral sausage and received 5lbs. of the frozen sausage in a bag. Should show pic of actual selection… What a waste!

The meat came in a five pound lump in a bag Iam supposed to eat five pounds at one sitting or defrost/separate and refreeze i haven’t opened it yet but no matter how good the sausage is I would not order from you again

N.Y. native... Florida for many years. I miss the great N.Y. parsley & sausage rings. I ordered what I thought would be sausage rings. Not! I'm very disappointed. I received a chunk of sausage ... not rings... was planning for bbq. I imagine I will keep and hold on for future meatball mixture.

I received bulk instead of the link sausage I ordered. Still awaiting the replacement product of equal or similar product as promised in a previous email. Any idea when that may arrive because this is not what I ordered. Thank you!

The drop down to select the type should default to the links rather than loose meat. I was hoping for a pinwheel but got 5lbs of loose meat. Tasty but also not much in the way of parsley to be found.

Got wrong product, picture of rope sausages right next to my order in the email , a little bait and switch even says 5 lb box so you think you are going the right ,no box but a bag of sausage meat ,wrote few emails, they brushed me off and took many days to get back to me

I didn’t get the sausage in the picture. I received a chunk of ground sausage instead. It is great sausage just not what I ordered.

I ordered the Sausage Coil Links and instead received $39. worth of sausage meat. It was a gift and we were supposed to have had the sausages that evening. I have reached repeatedly, out but the only response is from a Bot named Mary Anne , that keeps telling me that it was my fault and that I defaulted to the variant meat. I did not and was ordering the sausage coil as shown on the website photo. I even asked them to call me, but again just an automated response. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. Have they ever heard of customer service? I know that there will be an automated response to this review. BUYERS BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!

I couldn’t be more disappointed. I expected to get encased sausage not just a huge clump of it. No casing anywhere, all stuck together and would have to be defrosted and pulled apart in chunks to be able to cook it. To be honest, I would advise anyone interested in the thin rolled, provolone and parsley sausage to pass on it. It was a huge waste of $59+ since I threw the big clump away. If you care about customer service, you know how to reach me.

Sausage was delicious and so much flavor..

It arrived warm. The ice packs were melted, the boxes were wet and the sausage warm. I wrote to the help desk and requested a full refund.

I was unhappy that I got sausage meat and not the rings in the picture..It seems that the sausage rings are never in stock either...

I ordered two 5 pound boxes of thin cheese and parsley sausage and received one frozen 5 pound block of sausage meat instead. Still no sausage shipment weeks later. Looks like this has happened to other people as well. The customer service experience is turning into a cruel farce at this point.

Living in Las Vegas we have searched over 30 years for Italian sausage stuffed with provolone like we use to Order in Boston. I saw an ad for Esposito's and thought I’d give it a shot! It did not disappoint. Talk about flashbacks! We were a bit taken back by how skinny the sausage were because we are use to traditional fat ones but size definitely does not matter! lol….. Great job! You now have a new customer! This huge “FOODIE” is doing a happy dance! Thank You

Tough and wat too skinny. I’m 74 yrs old so I’ve been looking for that old fashion rope sausage that apparently nobody makes anymore. But thanks anyway.

I was so looking forward to the rope sausage, but was terribly disappointed when "it" arrived. Instead of being in a casing, it was just a huge clump of sausage that had to be pulled apart in chunks in order to separate it. There is no way this can be cooked as a "sausage", since I will have to make patties or roll it into a sausage shape to cook it. I went back to check what I ordered and it was what you show as a cased rope sausage. To say I was disappointed is putting it mildly. Even on sale, it was a lot of money for a huge clump of sausage meat.

I brought them over to my son's house and we had a great barbecue.

Sausage is GREAT; no complaints about taste or quality. The ONLY issue is I wish they were individually wrapped in the box so when I receive them I can freeze them and take them out individually as I need them as I often do not cook all three at once.

Your sausage was very good and tasty. However, when it arrived it was totally stuck together, like it was defrosted and refrozen. We had to defrost it to re freeze it ourselves. Some of the links were damaged, and I did make a small complaint about it, but it was not resolved to my satisfaction. We're not sure if we will reorder.

Great taste. Love the sharpness of the cheese and the spices taste of sausage. Put one of the 3 rings on the grill. It was gone in 5 minutes. Can’t wait to cook the other two and order more.

This is the first time we’ve tried this sausage and it had a great flavor. Seems like it was ground finer than most store bought sausages so the feel in the mouth was much smoother. Will definitely buy this sausage again.

The rings were all frozen together, even though there was parchment paper between the rings. Use thicker paper or wait until each ring is partially frozen first before packing. There are no recipes for the rings on the site, only breakfast recipes, and no instructions on different methods to cook it.

I moved from Long Island to Florida in 1989. Over the years I tried a lot of locally made sausage and other national brands. I could never find a decent Italian sausage that replicated the ones I grew up with. After watching several Instagram posts about Esposito’s and reading various reviews, I decide that I would order the Provolone and Parsley rope sausage. I received it four days after I ordered it. It was still frozen and package very well. I can honestly say that this sausage was the best that I have had in 36 years. Excellent flavor and texture. The flavor was consistent throughout with nice sized pieces of provolone and parsley. Unfortunately, the five pounds of sausage was enjoyed by me and my family and only lasted for two meals. I cannot emphasize enough how good the sausage was. I’m am getting ready to order the sweet and hot Italian sausage and I cannot wait for it to arrive. I will be a customer from this point forward. I grew up 3 blocks away from Esposito's in the 50s, 60s & 70s and theirs was the only sausage that ever passed my lips until I left NY in the late 80s. I'm in Phoenix now and you can't find rope style sausage anywhere and supermarket options, even the "Premium" brands, are mediocre at best. Having these on my plate last week almost brought me to tears it was sooooo special. And how can you beat free shipping these days? Guess what I'm eating for the Super Bowl.

The sausage is absolutely delicious. Please wrap the rings separately as I couldn’t get them apart and had to defrost them enough to pry them apart. Overall really really tasty

We love the parsley and cheese ring sausage and I often give it as a gift. One suggestion: Those who received as a gift have commented that it is hard to separate the rings upon receipt without defrosting, since they are likely to use only one ring at a time. Wonder if you could include an extra sheet of wax paper between rings.

I thought I ordered a provolone & parsley ring cheese package because that was the picture displayed when I ordered . Instead I received a frozen package that looked liked sausage meat not even links. My husband was not happy with the cooked product. The best I can hope for is to add it to a sauce. Very disappointed!

Arrived still frozen and I separated each ring cause I'm the only one that eats these kind of sausage. I so missed them since moving from Las Vegas to Idaho. Baked in the oven and sat and enjoyed. The taste I remember when my mom made them when I lived in New York. Delicious!

I have been eating your sausage for 60 years. It's always been the best ever. The last few times, it's just not the same. The casing is too thick, it lacks that great provolone flavor it use to have. Even the parsley doesn't seem to be there anymore. I'm really disappointed!!!

Product is great but your packaging needs some help. The clear plastic wrap on the outside of each sausage box is cheap and both boxes arrived not sealed. Seams came apart. The other issue is it is very hard to separate each of the 3 pinwheel sausage without fully defrosting all of them. Maybe more butcher paper in between would help or wax paper instead.

Didn’t see anywhere in your description of the sausage as being similar to breakfast sausage in size. Also, I have had two pieces of this sausage and had either gristle or bone fragment in it. I hope the hot and sweet are a better experience.

Sausage was pretty good but packaging was so bad it was disappointing. When I told the company, with pictures, their answer was an offer of a gift card. When I told them I would only be able to use a gift card if packaging would be different (better), I did not receive a reply. I won’t purchase again

I responded to the text message asking me about my order and my dissatisfaction about how it came. The box had three large sausage rings which tasted amazing that’s not the problem. I could not thaw out one ring because they were frozen together. The paper between them did not help at all. It was a solid block. We tried everything and just ended up tearing the ring apart into pieces. It would’ve been better if they were individually wrapped. I had to thaw out the entire box and cook it all and there’s just two of us. It was so much waste that it wouldn’t make it cost-effective to buy again. Very disappointed in that.

Your rope sausage is the best. Wonderful taste. We live in Virginia now but originally from New York and cannot get anything close to this sausage. Definitely will fill my freezer ordering again.

I have ordered a few times from Esposito’s and this order of the Provolone Cheese and Sausage was not the quality the other times I got it, It didn’t have little to no cheese and tasted dry, I am not sure what happened with that batch, I didn’t cook it any different then the instructions on the box, I am willing to give it another try one day.

Sausage sampler was good but didn’t stand out as being anything great. The packaging (frozen solid in 5 pound boxes) made it difficult to portion out. Overall, I didn’t think it was worth what averaged out to $10. Per pound.

not sure I'm an Italian sausage expert, but it is ok. comes frozen solid in 5 pounds so just a little hassle to thaw and resize into freezer bags. but hey. it's all good. makes good meat sauce
